Hi everyone. I just moved to Columbia to start at USC. The school
requires we use their health insurance but since I did not exhaust COBRA
from my husbands last job (would have been $1000 a month), my asthma is
now a preexisting condition. I have not had meds (Singulair and Asmanex)
for two weeks now and am having continuous trouble breathing. I can't
afford full cost of these medications. Any idea where I can go for help?

-If that doesn't work out she could ask about having the mometasone (asmanex) switched to something like QVAR that might be less expensive to pay cash. I'm not sure about the pricing...
-She needs to get a family MD and maybe change her medications. Also she
could try Hope Health in Florence, Aiken Or Orangeburg....they're real
cheap and good.
-Welvista is a medication assistance program that has in the past provided medications for patients at $20 a year – all their medications for the one price. The number is 1-800-763-0059 and the website is www.welvista.org.
